Navigating Pathways to Latino Student Success
An analysis of course registration challenges and opportunities based on survey findings of the Hispanic Development Fund (HDF) Scholars
This report presents findings from a survey of Hispanic Development Fund (HDF) Scholars, focusing on their experiences with course registration and the challenges they face. With responses from both two-year and four-year schools, the study aims to uncover the frequency of registration difficulties, specific challenges, and students' concerns about the impact on timely graduation.
The report's findings include:
- 25% experienced registration difficulties frequently or somewhat frequently
- 55% waited until another term to register for a needed class if it was full
- 53% were concerned that inability to register for essential courses would hinder on-time graduation
